Nilgün Hancioğlu

After living and working in Ankara, Turkey for 18 years, I came back to Cyprus, my birthplace, in 1996 and started to work at Eastern Mediterranean University, Northern Cyprus. I currently teach at the Department of General Education. I got my MA in ELT from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara and my PhD from EMU in 2009!!!!
I am especially interested in academic writing, corpus studies, data-driven learning, and lexical semantics, and my PhD research incorporates all these areas. I enjoy teaching, especially the Advanced Thesis Writing course I have been offering to post-graduate students for the past 5-6 years.
Me and my husband John live in Iskele, a small town 20 km from Famagusta.
